FutureWood is a family-owned corporation and our roots are deep in Wisconsin’s beautiful Northwoods. We own and manage land in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan, and we are proud of the strong relationships we have built with nearly everyone in the forestry and sustainable management communities throughout the Upper Midwest.
FutureWood began in 1973 when William D. Johnson, of Hayward, Wisconsin, established Johnson Timber. FutureWood grew from that company and was founded in 1988, with 16 full-time foresters providing land management advice to the property owners of Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan.
Today FutureWood is known as a leader in sustainable forestry, putting science-based best-practices forestry principles to work to protect the health of the Great Northwoods for future generations.
